Big News

Well, I'll just come right out and say it.  We're moving back to Ann Arbor.  Abram is watching American Idol with Lisa as I write.  He has a couple of interviews with Detroit firms on Thursday and Friday, and I just posted listings for our house on Craig's List and in the Washington Post (we're going to try and sell the house on our own to save a little moo-la).

Not surprisingly to most of you (or at least not to my retired neighbor, Joanne, who let me know she saw Abram's town car pulling in at all hours of the night and said to herself, "I appreciate that he is working his little tooshie off, but Kristin's over there with an infant and a toddler, all alone."  Who knew they were watching?  I'm glad to know I had her silent moral support though :), we decided we want Abram to be home a little more often.  And when he's not home, it's gonna be real nice to have my parents and Shawn and Lisa just a few minutes away.

So while I can't even tell you how sad we are to be leaving the wonderful friends we've made here, and being only an hour away from Abram's family, I am really excited to move home.  Literally.  Shawn and Lisa are looking for a house and we are going to move into Mom and Dad's while they are in Australia.  Along with the excitement come little panic attacks - What if we don't sell our house?  What if we don't find a job?  But we always seem to end up feeling good about it, so Pizza Bob's, here we come.

And please no one mention the weather.  I know, okay?

WOW! That is big news! And such a big decision. It makes me a little scared to be honest. Like I have no idea what I am in for once Tyler starts work. That is so exciting and brave! I am excited for your new adventure and I am sure everything will work out for you guys!

Wow, that is huge! I am so excited for you guys and that you'll get to see Abram more...it makes all the difference in everything, we've it experienced that exact change ourselves and can tell you that it is sooooo worth it. As a side note we had really good luck selling our house ourselves in Chicago...we basically bought a MLS listing for about $300- $400 so that it would come up on sites like realtor.com, etc. If you want any info on it just let me know!! Good luck with everything...can't wait to see you when we're back in good 'ole MI!

This definitely makes it sound real. Have the other firms let you know they are not interested or are they also still a possibility?
I know someone else who is very sad about our leaving - Ryan and Amy. But then I know someone who is very happy- me.

Oh mylanta! That's huge! Sounds like an awesome move, and closer to Michigan Stadium is reason enough to move back of course. Good luck with everything!

That is great to hear. Just one more year here for us and then we will be joining you. That makes moving there better and better. :) And how nice will it be to have a husband around?!!!

I'm thrilled for you, even though all my SLC hopes and dreams are dashed.

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm really excited for you - I think it will be a great move, particularly to have more family close by. ( : It's always hard to leave behind a place that you love, but I'm sure you'll be happy you made the move if Abram is around more. Good luck with the sale of your house.

The thing I know about you Kristin is that wherever you move, you'll have "family." Doing what is best for your growing little family is indeed something to feel very good about. Good luck with the transition!

I hope the job hunt goes good for Abram. Next time we move Jeff wants to sell our house without a realtor, so you'll have to keep us updated on that.

We're excited for you guys!

I'm so jealous! Even though I don't love Michigan weather I would love to live by Lisa and Shawn. But at least now when I come to visit I can finally meet those precious kids of yours.

We have been blessed to have had you for our neighbors this past year. The sadness we feel now is tempered by the fact that we know your family will be living the life you desire. It brings us joy to know you be eating dinner as a family, spending together, and enjoying one another. Please know however, that Quaker Hill Court will never be the same. Aida in particular miss her friend bobble head Max more than you will ever know.

Let the wailing and crying begin...well, it already has - but now it is official.

Wow! That's great if it means you'll get Abram at home more. I don't know how you do it as it is now. And, my brother and wife live in Detroit so when we visit them, we'll have to pop in and say hi to you guys, too. Actually, I have no idea how far it is from Detroit to Ann Arbor but I'll figure it out...

What a change, but it sounds like nothing but great things will come from it. I'm excited for you guys. Good luck with the house. We're thinking of hitting a Pistons game this season, so if you make the move before then, let's talk! :)

i dont think your mom was talking about us, but this ryan and amy will be sad about your leaving too, although i can see that living near your family and actually seeing your husband regularly would trump seeing me for a lunch visit every few years when i am in the area...i guess we will just have to figure out other ways to stay in touch. like blogging. i think my only chance of having friends as i turn into a real grown up is to hang on tight to their blogs! congratulations, both of you. this seems to be wonderful news!

This is the best news to hit Michigan since, ... well, actually the news has been pretty bleak for quite a while and I can't even remember any recent good news. But this is nothing short of fantastic. I'd be happy to help with the job hunt any way I can.

Holy Poo - That is big news. I am excited for you to be closer to family, have the traditions of MI football - since that is a HUGE reason why you are moving back. And to have a husband home a lot more. All those reasons sound great to me. I am really excited for you - and I am sure that you will sell your place soon. That craig list does wonders. Good luck!!!

Yeaaaaaa!!! Sadly enough for me, Pizza Bob's is enough of a trump card that I feel confident that I am much more likely to visit Ann Arbor than DC. I think we posted on the same day that we are moving too.

What?! We have to buy a house now?? I can't believe you're kicking us out! Okay really, having Abram here this last couple of days is a good reminder of just how much we love you guys and how excited we are for you to come home!

I can't believe you guys are going to move! :( It's been great having you guys here, and you will be missed. I guess I'll just have to try harder to have a baby of my own to get my baby fix now - you won't be here for me to come over and hold Vivi anymore!

Glad we are both secretly stalking the other. I love reading your blog, and I am so glad it is official that you are moving here!!! Start planning for a camping trip in August, we already convinced Shawn and Lisa, (Yeah I know crazy). It is going to be so fun to have you guys here!!! Good luck with your home and the move.
