Celebration

Saturday night Abram and I celebrated a very big event in his life.  For six months he has been exercising 6 days a week, only eating one dessert a week, and eating three healthy meals a day.  As a result he has lost 40lbs.  That's right, 40 lbs.  I am so proud.

A couple shout outs:
  • To Gary, for betting large amounts of money against him.  I would have killed Abram if he missed a day and he knew it.

  • To Shauri for shouting "Go Harder!" as he exercised and she watched TV.
You may notice that I don't get a shout out.  I was impossibly hard to live with and made brownies and ate ice cream without hesitation.  Abram read somewhere that spouses are the biggest saboteurs when it comes to dieting and I can definitely see how.

I haven't commented on a blog in like 6 months (it's way to hard to click over from google reader) :) but this deserves a comment. Steve says, "I respect that dude." And I say, "Wahoo!!!" That is so awesome!

Yay Abram! I always tell you this but he really does look so great. I'm so proud. If only I could learn that kind of restraint.

Good job! I have to say, that I'm sure it was extremely hard if judging by the You Got Served site is any indication of the kind of food being served around the Ellis household.

I wish I would have read this before I called and talked to you Abram. I am so impressed and you look so good. However, now I feel very guilty about eating that cookie just before I came to turn on the computer. I did write a sign which says "NO" on the cupboard where the candy is and it has worked for 3 days. The funny thing is I didn't say anything about it to either Bob or Garrett and neither one of them has said a word. My guess, they didn't even notice.

Thanks Kristin for emphasizing what I was doing while encouraging Abram! :) Of course, by clicking over to my blog and my last post you do sort of get the antithesis of this triumphant post---More Chocolate for Winter! Oh well. Maybe I'll try posting big "NO" signs like mom all over the house.

i'm hearing all of you about restraint. i do NOT have it. i'm so proud of abram not just for the weight lost, but for the focus and determination it takes. and i'm so not being sarcastic if it sounds so. i am SERIOUSLY impressed.
and kristin, you dirl of a saboteur.

Abram! You look so good! I'm inspired too. If only you could do all the work for me. I'm impressed.

OK, this is Jenny Peterson and i hope you don't think I'm wierd peeking on your blog, but Abram really does look great! We could use a little of that motivation our way. EVERYTHING in Dallas is fattening and lets just say we've put some extra weight on since moving here. I'm gonna make my husband look at this post. HA HA!

You ROCK. So impressed by everything... especially 1 dessert a week. Kristin, I don't judge you for eating treats without him... I'd probably have to eat them too. PS-Your kids are adorable.
