Yes, the Ears Are Crocheted

I've never claimed to be crafty. I've never even secretly thought it. So why I thought if I attempted to create Max's Mickey Mouse costume it would turn out better than the costumes I found online, I'll never know. Luckily, he's so stinkin' cute he can pretty much make any goofy thing he wears a hit.

One of Max's favorite things to do is pretend there are sharks or witches coming, and then hiding from them with us. Then we shake our finger at them and tell them to go home and leave us alone. Well, you can imagine Max's shock when we were trick or treating and he looked up to see a real life 10 year old witch standing next to him. He nearly wet himself (actually, he probably did for all I know) and leaped over to my leg, clinging to me for dear life. I kept trying to tell him it was okay, but he didn't get brave until we parted ways on the sidewalk and he screamed ferociously over my shoulder, "GO HOME WITCH!"

That was the best, I can't quit laughing. I think that costume is adorable. I wish there was someone in the house to laugh with but Dad's in Sydney--oh, well, It's never bothered me to laugh alone.

I'm totally impressed with the homemaking skills...I bet your mom is so proud. :)

Ok, for not being crafty, you did a stellar job on the costume. I thought it was so cute and very ambitious for you to make it when there were viable options online. It definitely turned out cuter than you could have bought. By the way, where did you find such bright yellow shoes??

Are you being serious? You CROCHETED those ears your very own self? You are my new hero and I'm not even kidding.

NO! I did not crochet the ears (though I do know how to crochet a mean pot holder). Some lady on ebay was selling that particular skill.

Mel, you're looking at some spray painted Target shoes. It was that or some $30 Crocs, so I made the obvious choice. Of course, they never did fully dry after the 3rd coat of paint which lead to a couple sticky situations. Again, one of the downfalls of my crafty ambition.

And Em, let's be honest, this was all about that little Delsa voice in my head.

I love that! I'm sure the 10 year old Witch really appreciated you screaming at her. I would've loved to see that!

I think the costume is cute. That picture is awesome. It's as if Max knows how fabulous the costume is too. He's holding his hand out to say, "come one, come all - come see the FABULOUS MOUSE!"
Hilarious. Wish I could have seen it in person.

Oh- and by the way, you forgot one of the all time great Creed moments... When he was worried that technology was going to make him lose his job and he dyed his hair black w/ printer ink and said, "What's up Bra?"

Does it make you lose respect for me that I do NOT understand how to use eBay and actually win anything? All the bidding and the last seconding. It just seems like an exercise in frustration to me. And so what do I do if I want some crocheted mickey mouse ears? It's all very sad you know.

I hear you, actually, I never bid on anything. I just do the whole "buy now" thing. Lucky for me there seems to be a dip in the popularity of crocheted Micky Mouse ears at the moment.

Max is just like his parents, makes me laugh continuously. I love that when he felt safe in your arms he had the courage to scream at the little girl

I am also impressed! And, I agree with you that Max could pull off anything.
