Lucky Duck

A couple months ago at work, Abram won a night out on the firm. So tonight we went to The Capital Grille with the Hales and the Virays. It was beautiful. I had a few moments of food ecstasy, fantastic adult conversation, and an extra hour of sleep tonight. Who could ask for more?

P.S. Check out that chocolate cake. That was after I ate half of it.

P.P.S. I had few bites of calamari (completely edible and of course deep fat fried) and a bite of a crab cake (gagged twice).

Someone was reading your blog with me and was laughing about you not gagging. I had to explain how usually when you eat seafood (or refried beans on my mission) you traditionally gag three times. As in, "I gagged three times." Sooo..in your crab cake attempt, you should still feel proud of your progress.
You look great - have you lost all your baby weight already??

Uh, no. Not even close. But I'm glad the picture somehow disguised it :)

That cake looked mighty good, was it better than the one at PF Changs?
The one holding the baby looked like Hans, but it didn't look like his wife. Who are those friends?
I must check the blogs 3 times a day just in case someone writes. Happy me, there were two new ones tonight, from you and the spinster.

I guess I should clarify "Hales and Virays" : Nikolai and Noah's parents :)

Hmmm, who is Hans? I suppose I could see Steve as a Hans :). Thanks so much for fabulous evening. It was perfect. . .

I think this is where you and I ate lunch that day I carted you around in the wheelchair, is it not? And if I remember correctly, I was delighted with my meal, even though it included no seafood.

PS: Calamari and crab cakes isn't really the place to start. Halibut maybe. But, I mean, even seafood people sometimes don't like calamari.
