Wednesday

Wednesday was such a great day. Mom had promised Max that she would make cookies with him, and the first thing he said to Abram when he woke up was, "Cookies?" So Grandma and he went to work. Click here for the delicious recipe.

Speaking of recipes, we have been eating so well here. I didn't know it was possible, but I had forgotten just how good my mama's food is.

After the cookies we took our daily walk to K Mart. Grandma had told Max she would buy him a toy. He spent a good 30 minutes picking up every toy that caught his eye and handing it to me to carry for him. I kept stopping him, showing him two toys and saying, "pick one." He would do so and that was the only way to keep the pile manageable. He ended up with Dora action figures and a tool set.

Abram was trying on clothes and the dressing room was in the lingerie department. I turned around and Max was holding two humungous hot pink bras out to me and said, "Pick one mama! Pick one!"

During a monster nap for the kids we got some well deserved adult conversation. We were going to go to Clelands Park to cuddle the Koalas, but the kids woke up too late, so we settled for another walk. I love mom and dad's neighborhood by the way. It's full of cute little houses and everyone has gorgeous rose bushes and fruit trees. We're talking lemons, oranges, pomegranates, figs, persimmons, you name it. I love all the gum trees too. Instead of losing their leaves every year, they lose their bark, and then in the Spring, grow it back.

Max had his happiest day yet, which was wonderful, but Abram and I didn't take naps so we were exhausted by 8 o'clock (the kids are waking up between 3 and 5 am). We did manage to get a game of Scrabble in, and the victor was yours truly.
